Huib van Deutekom

Huib van Deutekom majored in (Physical)Chemical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Applied Sciences  in 1956, and worked with Philips Company for 35 years in Electrochemical Engineering, Battery Engineering, Recycling engineering and International Standards Engineering. Huib contributed to National Electrotechnical Standardization as Chairman and International Battery Standardization as Secrretary of IEC-TC35, Amongst other achievements patents were issued for Damping magnetostriction, and Nickel Metal Hydride Batteries.

In 1991 Huib has founded Bureau Van Deutekom with the mission to contribute to and participate in Innovative Physical Chemical and Battery Engineering Projects in the fields of Recycling and Safe Handling of  End Of Live Products, especially related to Electrochemical Devices.

In cooperation with Van Peperzeel, BATREC Company of Switzerland, STIBAT and ARN amongst others achievements patents were issued related to Sorting of End of Life Batteries, Recycling of Lithium Types of Batteries and Fire Extinguishing of Lithium Batteries.

Fundamental considerations have been developed on the physical chemical aspects of the fire safety systems under development and implemented by Battery Safety Systems BV in cooperation with Van Peperzeel, Abner Sales Power, TYCO Company, FirePro Company, Hazard Control Technologies Company, Twente Safety Campus, Energie-Forschungszentrum Niedersachsen (Goslar DEU) , Amsterdam Amstel Fire Brigade, Fire Brigade Training Centres Crailo, Wijster, and Lommel (BEL), ARN and STIBAT,
